Hey Sylke I finally did it!
I’ve been tagged to do a meme on my child’s favourite books. So here we go.
The pink guy that changes shape and has lots of friends. I’d never heard of it before but it’s big in Japan.
With characters like Makka Pakka, Upsy Daisy and the Ninky Nonk which sounds like a bloke who needs to be arrested, it’s more surreal than the Teletubbies but the daughter loves it.
Nontan Buranko Nosete (Let me ride the swing Nontan!) A story about a cat who learns to share. It’s cute and the wife’s voices are amazing when she reads it out.
Iyada Iyada. (No, No) is a great story about a girl called Lulu who always says no to her parents. To pay her back, everything Lulu loves starts saying no to her like the sun, her treats and shoes.

That’s not my monkey! is my favourite children’s book. I like monkeys. The monkeys ears and feet have special textures you can touch.
New Bonus Favourite –

Octopus Socktopus. We got this out from the library and it’s amazing. Learn about the Punk Rocktopus and the Cuckoo Clocktopus.

Whoohoo! The other people I’ve tagged have still not reacted so you are actually fast!
)
>>> Barbapapa is something I know from my own childhood; I have to go and find some of those books now that you reminded me! I liked them loads but we only got them from the library so I don’t have any of them left.
>>> Yannick doesn’t know any of the Night Garden stuff yet, so no Ninky Nonk in our house.
>>> We had some of those ‘That’s not my …’ books but somehow Yannick never really found them very interesting. But most Usborne books have been and still are great! We have loads!
>>> Library… Need to go back now that Yannick finally understands a bit more English. After only translating from English books we finally started reading books to him in English and also translate them so he learns a lot from them. It’s great to hear him using some of the words he picks up. I’m sure he’ll be more or less fluent summer of next year.
We’ve finally introduced Yannick to the Night Garden (on TV) – and guess what? Being a typical boy he finds Ninky Nonk absolutely fascinating. But so do I actually.
