I heard on the news yesterday that blogging is getting bigger by the day. In
fact, on average a new blog is being created every single second. A flick
through the history books shows that blogs have been around for some
considerable time, but it’s only recently that they’ve started to receive
wider recognition. I managed to search out these famous quotations (see
below), which show just how long blogging has been out there.
“Ich bin ein blogger” – That oft-quoted embarrassing moment for JF Kennedy
when he tried to tell some German people that he was a donut, but instead
rather clumsily informed them that he was a blogger!
“This is one small blog for a man, one big blog for mankind” – Neil
Armstrong somewhat talking up the introduction of his own blog. And quite
why he had to go all the way to the moon to tell everyone about it is
anybody’s guess.
“Where there is discord, let there be blogs,
Where there is error, may we bring blogs
Where there is doubt, may be bring blogs,
And where there is despair, may we bring blogs” - During her famous election
victory in 1979, Thatcher made herself look silly by going on about blogs a
bit too much.
“Blogeni, blogidi, blogici” - Julius Ceaser doffing his leafy cap to the
blog.
“Blogging is mankind’s greatest blessing” - Mark Twain. Say no more.
Any others?
