Do you have any ideas for campfire activities for 12 Japanese kids aged 8-11 please?

Hmmm… 8-11. Mashimaru maybe? Marshmallows or smores. Never tried to make smores, but apparently they’re pretty good. Songs to practice English like BINGO or whatever.

      1) Smores
      2) Ghost stories
      3) Teach them about constellations

      “Stockbrot”- http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockbrot

It’s bread backed on a stick over the campfire. The stick should be of nontoxic wood. Get the bark off and wrap the doe in a spiral round the stick. Don’t wrap the doe too thick and don’t hold the bread directly into the flame, or it will burn on the outside and still be raw inside.
Doe is mostly done with yeast… here is a recipe (for 10 buns) from the net:
      600 g flower
      1x yeast
250 ml lukewarm Milch (not over 40 °C)
      80 ml oil
      80 g sugar or honey
      1 pinch of salt
The doe should rise once before you warp it round the stick. When the bread it fully backed you should be able to pull it off the stick without problems. It takes 5 to 25 min to bake it, depending on the heat of the campfire.

      Probably a bit late…
