Kimono lady

Here`s a young lady in a kimono on the train I took with my mobile phone. This was taken around the time of the graduation ceremonies for universities and schools in March and I think this is where she had come from.

The summer months see many outdoor festivals and firework displays so there will be plenty more of these to see in the coming months with people decked out in their yukata. I can`t wait.

      Um, it’s kind of rude to take pictures of people like that. She looks like she’s recoiling away from you. Please try to be a “friendly gaijin neighbor” and not give us a bad image.

      She isn`t recoiling from me but cat napping. Although the picture doesn`t do justice to the scene, it`s a beautiful dress and it makes a good picture.

      Of course I can see where you are coming from. If I had asked her permission, I`m sure she would have allowed me to take a picture and out of politeness I could have done that. But what an incredible dress don`t you think?
