Pitfalls of Baby Naming in Japan

05.11.06 | 1 Comment

This is the latest picture of the baby. Or at least her foot. She weighs about two kilograms Her foot is 6 six centimetres long.

She`ll take after me. This is both a good and a bad thing. For one she`s got big feet and allegedly a big nose – or larger than an average Japanese one.

We`re going to call her Isabelle Hannah Quain. Unfortunately as well as meaning flower, `hana` in Japanese also means nose. It would be unfortunate if we named her after her one striking feature.

It`s like calling her Jimmy `The Chin` Hill or Ronnie “Balloon Head” DeAngelis.
