Why is the sign on the train that says THIS SEAT SEATS 7 PEOPLE PLEASE MAKE ROOM FOR EVERYONE located BEHIND the six people sitting where they can’t see it tormenting those standing?

Well yes, the sign should have been placed higher for commuters to see.
Then again it’s in English so perhaps the Japanese don’t take any notice of it at all, assuming there are alot more Japanese commuters than not.

I see you’re from Poole - I’m from the north in Gillingham, near Shaftesbury :)

      Hi Susan,

Good to know there are more English reading. The sign was in Japanese which increased my frustration more.

      No wonder why!
We’re living in Milan at present due to hubby’s job and will
probably move to Japan in 2008 or 09. Bit apprehensive
about it all but reading blogs like yours actually helps in
      my preparation :)
